Energy and enthusiasm are part of the package when it comes to Esteban Rey. He embodies a permanent ritual that celebrates life. This Venezuelan singer, who has lived in Europe for over 15 years, creates music that takes us on a magical journey of realism.

A journey in which we walk the streets of Latin America, have a drink in a Mexican cantina, sit in the mountains of the Andes or end up immersed in the blue of the Caribbean Sea, through sounds and rhythms that speak of only one thing: fusion.

For over a decade, he has led the Chamito Sound project, touring countries such as Austria, Belgium, Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland and Russia.

He has taken part in numerous festivals and has had the honour of sharing the stage with artists such as Amparanoia, Che Sudaka, Hindi Zahra and Manu Chao, or opening for them.

Esteban Rey is currently developing his new musical project, in which electric rock guitars and pop music combine harmoniously with tequila-infused Mexican mariachi. The result is a feeling of nostalgia, while the keyboard melodies invite us to join in a party where life is celebrated with all its ups and downs.

Esteban Rey has a single mission: to connect with his audience and allow hearts to recognise themselves, as he puts it. His music invites listeners to immerse themselves in a world of emotions, stories and varied sounds.

New album: BITACORA DE UN SUEÑO

This is the title of the new album, which will be available on 21 March 2024. On that date, it will be officially presented at the Venue Schüür (LU). From this stopover in Lucerne, the promotional tour will then begin across Switzerland.

The artist has deliberately chosen places and sensations that have a deep emotional significance for him in order to record this new album. Mexico City was the place of strength where this musical seed was planted and came to life.

A creative team of musicians from the Mexican capital played a key role in the creation of the new songs, which were recorded at the New York Music Studio. This studio offers the ideal space to create the vintage, warm sound that characterises the concept of this work.

“Bitácora de un Sueño’ will not just be an album, but also the idea of an adventure book to accompany the songs. The reader will be guided by texts that reveal the logbook of Esteban Rey’s journey into the world of his dreams.
